Super Bowl LV is near (February 7, 2021), and we are once again looking for support in our annual “Souper” Bowl Fund Drive!

100% of the monies raised from this drive will be used to help the SiCM Food Pantry feed those who are food insecure throughout Schenectady County. In 2020 the people of Schenectady faced a pandemic, food and personal care item shortages, debt and job loss. Due to the support of the community, the SiCM Food Pantry was fortunate enough to stay open all year to help those in need. SiCM served 300 families a week and a total of 454,000 meals indicating that the challenge of hunger for many people in the County continues. Food may be purchased from the Northeastern Regional Food Bank for $.16 per pound, so monetary donations go a long way toward providing food for those in need. Last year the Souper Bowl raised $11,669.02 for the food pantry! This year we are hoping to raise $15,000 and we can do that with your help!
We invite you to join a winning team to ensure another successful drive by donating online here or displaying a canister in your church or business so your patrons can contribute throughout the weeks leading up to the game. Call Laura at the SiCM Business Office 518-346-2683 x 103 or email to let us know that you would like to join. One of our staff members or volunteers can drop the canisters off to you.

Not sure where to start? Create your own Souper Bowl Activities!

+Make it a Competition – which team and faith group or business can raise the most funds?
+Ask for a donation based on the total cost of a party, or break it down by per person.
+Host a “football bake sale” of snacks served at a Super Bowl Party and ask for cash donations.
+Hot Soup – During a social hour, serve soup on Super Bowl Sunday and ask for cash donations.
+Ask people to bring a can of soup and make a cash donation. Cans of soups can be collected and donated to SiCM’s Pantry as well.
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, SiCM encourages you to donate online and you can do that here.
