Siena College AmeriCorps VISTA Fellowship Position at Schenectady Community Ministries (SiCM) Annually, the Center for Academic and Community Engagement at Siena College (ACE), selects 30 people from around the country to serve with local Community-Based Organizations who are working to address socio-economic challenges in the region including: gaps in education, health care, housing, criminal justice, and economic development. VISTA Fellows fight poverty by working alongside community members to build capacity and create sustainable, local solutions. In addition, they build professional networks, leadership skills, and lifelong connections within their VISTA cohort.
The SiCM VISTA Fellow will be responsible for volunteer recruitment & scheduling, administrative work on the Summer Meals Program, social media promotions & special events for the Summer Meals Program and database management of the volunteers in the SiCM programs and will report directly to Jo-Anne Rafalik, Summer Meals Director and Volunteer Coordinator. This fellowship will allow SiCM to expand our Volunteer Base and Summer Meals Program. Must be willing to work as part of a team and independently and take initiative. Ability to work on database management is a plus. Hours are Monday to Friday, usually 8am to 4:30pm.
